The sun did shine for me today
Lifting up my face I felt its rays
And stood enjoying as it eased my pains
Oh yes, the sun did shine for me today

Some birds did make a merry sound
Flitting and darting up and around
Wild flowers made a pretty array
To herald in the spring again
