Lovers

Love may leave you in a daze
It comes to us in various ways
Eyes melting in glistening frost
Wandering around, not counting the cost

Love enfolding you in its cloak
Beware, I warn, for fear you choke
Love is blind, it pays no heed
As Satan's fingers start to knead

Love whirls you round and round
Fingers twine while hearts pound
Time, impatient, without a care
Waits for no-one, dark or fair

Fill your cup and drink today
Hold on to love, else it fade away
Lovers stroll into the night
Grab that moonbeam, hold it tight

Fear not the mouth where evil spills
Let not the heat of love grow chill
Love is precious, not just lumber
Lie inside its quilt and slumber

Love together but do not haste
To take that gold ring from its case!
