If I Had Wings

Spoken by Irene:

If I but had wings, I'd spread them and fly
To the peak of a mountain and look far and wide
Survey all my Kingdom, that lays far below
All my earthly troubles would not be in tow

I could fly to an eagle's nest there to have a peep
At the little baby eaglets in their feathers asleep
Choose a fluffy cloud so soft and so white
Aimlessly dreaming as I drift through the night

If I but had wings I'd zoom through the air
Weaving and whirling with not a single care
The man in the moon would scold me I know
If I hovered near him to disturb his glow

With powerful wings to the heavens I'd fly
Maybe talk with the angels if I try
No more would I envy my feathered friends
Watching them hover, about to descend

If I but had wings I'd fly to the sky
And just watch the world from my perch up on high
