I saw a field of poppies
A sight wondrous to behold
Beckoning like a huge red blanket
So I entered like a long lost soul
I lay on that blanket of heaven
Feeling sleepy and quite serene
The sun was warm and gentle
As it shone down in a steady beam
Suddenly fear engulfed me
I tried to rise to my feet
But my arms and legs were jelly
And I couldn't utter a squeak
Scream after scream tore through me
Yet there wasn't a single sound
I laid there filled with horror
As it raised itself from the ground
Its eyes were mere slits of evil
Fangs that were pointed and long
Thick fur, black as midnight
On a body ugly, yet strong
It leapt as I lay there frozen
His breath burned hot on my face
Pain tore through my cheekbones
Then blackness filled the place
