Yesterday

Yesterday our feet were lighter
Spring was always in the air
Tears were merely tears of laughter
But then that was yesterday

Yesterday we wore thin cottons
We didn't seem to fear the cold
Our legs were bare whilst others covered
But then that was yesterday

Yesterday we'd drink 'til sun up
While music screamed in our ears
Arms and legs always moving
But then that was yesterday

Yesterday life was all living
We never counted the cost
Here we sit talking of memories
Memories of our yesterdays
