Sunday 4th March to Wednesday 7th March
Usual round of cleaning, packing and carting from the London apartment followed by carting, unpacking and cleaning at the Park View apartment...
Will we ever learn ? (It's rhetorical, Homer 8-)
Thursday
8th March
When we arrived at Heathrow, check-in was quick, and after a swift pasta, we
were ushered into the 'Executive Lounge' where there was booze, food, snacks
and newspapers, all free !
(Peter tried to send an e-mail but the equipment was too technical 8-)
We finally achieved take-off after a one hour delay. The 'Club Class' section
on this leg of the journey was a bit disappointing - just a small area seperated
by a curtain, but at least we got three seats between two !

We arrived in Athens at around 4:30am local time, and were taken by taxi to
a really plush 5 star hotel (all paid for by those nice people at Olympic Airways
8-). The taxi driver was a total maniac, driving at high speed, so we got to
the hotel in what seemed like an instant and collapsed into a dreamless sleep
!
Friday
9th March
Felt surprisingly refreshed after a few hours sleep and following a leisurely
breakfast at the hotel we were taken back to the airport at a more sedate pace.
However, the guys who re-fuel the aircraft decided to strike just as we needed
to fill up, which resulted in a two hour delay, including a stop-over at Rhodes
airport to do the actual re-fuelling 8-(
After our disappointment with the first leg of the journey, the club class section
was top - massive seats, loads of leg room and excellent service ! (We have
vowed NEVER to travel 'Cattle' again 8-)
The second leg, from Athens to Bangkok was a bit longer - the picture shows us flying over the Gulf.
Bangkok is in the centre of the picture - we are approaching Bombay having previously avoided Iraqi air space (for some reason 8-)
Saturday 10th March
Finally arrived at our hotel at around 6:30am local time - got to try and keep awake until late evening !
The view from our room in The Oriental, Bankok - this river is their main artery. You get allsorts of boats whizzing up and down here at all times of day and night !
